Mahindra Vision S launch India: in the Indian automobile market suvs Are becoming popular rapidly. Especially middle class buyers are now looking for SUVs which have strong looks, good features and affordable price. Meanwhile, the buzz has intensified regarding Mahindra’s upcoming new compact SUV, Mahindra Vision S. Last year, on Independence Day, Mahindra had shown the Mahindra Vision S concept model. This hinted at a sub-4 meter compact SUV that could eventually become a part of the company’s popular Scorpio family. The special thing is that the almost production-ready model of this SUV has been seen several times during testing. The spy image has provided important information about its design and features.
Mahindra’s new design language will be seen in Vision S
According to the renders, the production model of Vision S may have a modern and powerful design. It may have Mahindra’s new design language, which will make it different from other compact SUVs. Auto experts believe that when launched, this SUV could be very popular in the Indian market, especially among young buyers.
Front look will give the feel of a powerful SUV
The front end of the Vision S is expected to feature Mahindra’s signature grille with vertical slats. It may be accompanied by dual-function LED DRLs and round projector LED headlamps. A larger bumper, faux skid plates and fog lamp assembly could give the SUV a more muscular look. The side profile may feature heavy cladding on the wheel arches and below the doors, roof rails and a shark-fin antenna, which will further strengthen its SUV stance.
Rear design will also be quite attractive
At the rear, the SUV may get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, which will give it an off-roading look. There are also expected to be inverted L-shaped LED taillamps, bumper-mounted reverse lamps and a faux skid plate. Its boxy and straightforward design is expected to be largely similar to the Vision S concept. However, the rendered model does not appear to have adventure accessories like side steps or a jerry can.
Panoramic sunroof and many great features
- Many elements of the concept are expected to remain in the production model. It may feature a center console with physical buttons at the bottom, a traditional gear lever and special HVAC vents.
- It is also expected to have a traditional analog instrument cluster with a small MID (Multi-Information Display).
- The manual AC dial and fabric seat upholstery suggest that this could be an entry-level or mid-level variant. Its most special feature may be the panoramic sunroof, which makes it unique in its segment.

Engine and Performance
The Mahindra Vision S is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is probably sourced from the company’s XUV 3XO. This engine is expected to come with manual and automatic gearbox options. In its current configuration, the engine produces around 117 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. However, power and torque figures may be slightly different in the Vision S. If this SUV is launched with the same design and features, then it can become a great and affordable SUV option for middle-class buyers.
