Thrill of World Cup final in Ahmedabad: Stadium turned into impregnable fort

Ahmedabad, 7 March 2026: The high voltage final match of the T20 World Cup is going to be played tomorrow between India and New Zealand in the Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium. Keeping in mind the presence of more than 1 lakh spectators and many VVIP guests, security arrangements have been made by the Ahmedabad Police. The stadium and its surrounding areas have been turned into an impenetrable fort for security purposes.

A special action plan has been prepared by the police to avoid any untoward incident during the match. 1 JCP, 7 DCP, 10 ACP including 25 PI, 78 PSI and 1470 police personnel will be deployed in security arrangements. Apart from this, 4 teams of Bomb Disposal Squad and 1 team of NDRF will continuously patrol the stadium. A special control room has been created to keep an eye on every movement inside and outside the stadium, where it will be monitored by 270 high-definition cameras.

To avoid creating traffic problems due to thousands of vehicles coming to watch the match, 744 officers and employees will remain on the road. A team including 1 JCP, 3 DCP and 4 ACP will be deployed for traffic regulation. 16 traffic cranes will be continuously operational for immediate removal of vehicles parked in ‘no parking’ zone. To avoid crowding near Gate No. 1, barricading has been done 100 meters in advance.

Tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm, the road from Janpath T to Motera Stadium main gate, Krupa Residency to Motera village will be closed for vehicles. Motorists will be able to use the route from Tapovan Circle to ONGC Char Road, Visat T, Janpath T, Power House to Prabodh Rawal Circle. Apart from this, Sharan Status can be availed from Kripa Residency T via Bhat-Koteshwar Road towards Apollo Circle. Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Police has appealed to the cricket fans to use public transport as much as possible and cooperate with the police by following the traffic rules.
