Increase in Avimukteswarananda’s difficulties; Police force in Varanasi ashram in case of sexual exploitation

Avimukteswaranand News : Uttar Pradesh : Swami Avimukteswarananda is caught in the vortex of controversy. Avimukteswarananda and his disciple Mukundananda have been accused of sexual abuse. After this, the police in Prayagraj are now in action. A five-member special team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police has started collecting evidence and recording the statements of the victims on Monday. Considering the sensitivity and high profile of the case against Swami Avimukteswaranand, the Prayagraj Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team. The five-member team is headed by DCP Manish Kumar Shandilya and includes ACP Jhunsi and Inspector Jhunsi along with other experienced police officers. On Monday, in the first phase of the investigation, the team reached the spot where the alleged incident took place. The police have prepared a “Naksha Nakshari” (map) of a specific location in the Magh Mela camp, which is considered to be a key piece of evidence in the investigation. Now, after the police reaches the ashram and starts the investigation, many things may become clear.

Victim statements and medical examinations are the primary focus of police investigations. Currently, the police are focused on reaching the two victims who have accused the Swami and his disciple of sexually assaulting them in cars parked outside and inside the Magh Mela camp. A team of DCP Manish Kumar Shandilya has left to record statements of complainant Ashutosh Brahmachari and both the victims. According to reports, the victim is currently in Lucknow, so the police will first conduct a medical examination of her and then record her statement in written form. Based on these statements and medical reports, the police will determine further legal action and possible arrest.

Avimukteswaranand’s stance: ‘Will fully cooperate in investigation’

As soon as the FIR was filed and the police investigation started, Swami Avimukteswaranand has made his position clear. He said that he will not run away from the investigation and will fully cooperate with the police. He has publicly declared that “the gates of his monastery are always open to the police.” On the question of arrest, he said the police will do what they think is right. He also said that his legal team is now considering further legal action and that several prominent lawyers have offered to fight his case for free.

Questions raised about the complainant

Swami Avimukteswarananda also made serious allegations about the criminal history of Ashutosh Brahmachari, who represented the case. Swamy claims that the complainant Ashutosh is a crime historian in the Kandhala police station area and has previously been offered a reward of Rs 25,000. He expressed confidence that “the public is watching” and that justice will ultimately be served in both the courts – the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court. Swamy supported Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s statements and called him the voice of the people.
