Subhadra Shakti Leadership Summit Konark Highlights
Ahead of International Women’s Day, the Department of Mission Shakti has inaugurated the “Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference” at Konark.
The six-day conference will bring together around 700 Mission Shakti block-level federation presidents and secretaries, along with district and block-level officials from all 30 districts of Odisha.
On the first day of the conference, 90 presidents and secretaries of federations from Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Nayagarh districts participated in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Manasi Nimbhal, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Mission Shakti Department, said, “Women represent strength, resilience and success. Today, Mission Shakti has emerged as a successful model of women’s empowerment recognised across the country. The ‘Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference’ will further strengthen women’s leadership and create new opportunities for entrepreneurship and leadership development among them.”
Experienced trainers from the Xavier Institute of Management conducted sessions focusing on transforming Self-Help Groups (SHGs) into Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The discussions covered skill development, start-up opportunities, digital literacy and financial literacy to equip women with the knowledge needed to expand their enterprises.
The sessions also encouraged participants to create new enterprises and become financially independent, contributing to the goal of producing more Lakhpati and Maha Lakhpati Didis in the coming years.
Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and other officials of the Mission Shakti Department were also present at the conference.
