‘Why didn’t you go?’ Why does a successful, educated person stay in an abusive relationship for 15 years? I asked myself this question. Why didn’t I leave after the first incident? Or second…third. Was I blind? Was it weak? Or had I got used to it?’
This statement clearly shows that Celina introspected herself many times about the problems in her relationship and tried to understand why she endured the situation for such a long period.

Confuses you for the fifth time. The tenth time becomes ‘normal’.

Could not separate due to compulsions

Last year, Celina Jaitley filed a case of domestic violence against her husband Peter Haag. He demanded compensation of Rs 50 crore and also sought custody of his children. His allegations include emotional, physical and sexual abuse.
Due to legal action, Celina had to leave her home in Austria and return to India. According to him, his children are still living with their father in Austria.
