Iran bombards Kuwait with drones, fuel depot engulfed in flames

Kuwait City. A major drone attack has taken place on Kuwait amid America-Israel’s ongoing war with Iran. Iran is attacking Tel Aviv’s US allies in the Persian Gulf. Kuwait said that a government building was targeted by a drone.

A massive fire broke out in the fuel depot of the airport due to the drone attack. Quoting Kuwait’s government news agency, CNN said in its report that a government building in Kuwait was targeted in a drone attack. The headquarters of the Public Institution for Social Security is also located here.

The attack has damaged the contents of this location. The building is approximately 22 storeys tall and is located in the posh Al Soor district of Kuwait City Centre. Next to it is the Hotel for Seasons. Shopping malls are at some distance from here.

The acting director of the Public Institution for Social Security said that several guards of the building were evacuated safely and there were no reports of injuries. Data is secure. Apart from this, two fuel depots at Kuwait International Airport were also attacked by drones. A massive fire broke out in one of them.

Kuwait Fire Force said that the team is currently working to extinguish the fire in the government building and fuel depot. KUNA says the attack came at a time when Kuwait’s air defense is facing a wave of enemy drones.

It is noteworthy that despite apologizing, Iran has bombed the Persian Gulf countries. Meanwhile, Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed at least four people were killed and ten others were injured in an Israeli strike on an apartment in the Ramada hotel building in central Beirut.

Surprisingly, Israel attacked the center of central Beirut rather than the southern areas controlled by Hezbollah. Earlier, Persian Gulf countries have reported air strikes and interceptions on Sunday morning. The Kuwaiti Army said that on Sunday local time, Iran launched a drone strike on fuel storage at Kuwait International Airport.

Drones are being intercepted in Kuwaiti skies. Some civil structures are being damaged by drone debris. Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry also said it faced drone attacks and intercepted at least 21 drones on Sunday morning.

A fire has broken out at a site at Mina Salman Port across the King Fahd Causeway in Bahrain. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry has called it an Iranian attack. These attacks came after Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian apologized.

He on Saturday apologized to Gulf countries for drone and missile attacks on US bases in the region last week. Pezeshkian’s office later clarified that the president meant that “if countries in the region do not join the United States in attacking Iran, we will not attack them.”
