Vlogger & Bigg Boss Contestant Anurag Dobhal In ICU After Livestreaming Car Crash
New Delhi: In a spine-chilling incident, social media vlogger and Bigg Boss 17 contestant Anurag Dobhal, popularly known as ‘UK 07 Rider’, landed in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Meerut hospital after his Toyota Fortuner crashed during a livestream which was watched by more than 80,000 of his followers.
Dobhal, who has a massive following across YouTube and Instagram through motorcycle vlogging, allegedly crashed his car at high speed deliberately during at high speed during an Instagram livestream on Saturday.
Dobhal had been publicly talking about a mental health crisis in the days preceding the incident, and appeared visibly distressed during the livestream.
As the speedometer of his Toyota Fortuner SUV showed 140-150 kmph on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, he told viewers he felt completely alone and had no one left to call.
“Log hi nahi bache hai yaar jisko phone karu, let’s go for a final ride,” he said.
He added moments later, “And it’s a goodbye.”
He then stepped on the accelerator and the car crashed.
The car, travelling from Dehradun to Delhi, struck the divider and fell back on the other lane, according to officials.
Dobhal also said, “Mummy, if I come in the next birth, just give love.”
Another video clip surfaced on social media showing the aftermath of the crash, with Dobhal seen lying on the road with injuries as people gathered around him to help. His car was badly damaged.
Those present at the site of the crash pulled Dobhal out of his vehicle and called for medical assistance. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment for severe injuries.
His manager Rohit Panday provided an update.
“He has been moved to another hospital, currently in ICU and please pray for him. We are in touch with doctors and everyone else,” Panday wrote on Instagram story on Sunday.
A few days before the crash, Dobhal shared with his followers he was facing an acute mental health crisis. In a video nearly two hours long, Dobhal alleged that he had been subjected to continuous mental pressure and harassment by his family over several months as he had entered into an inter-caste marriage.
He claimed that his parents did not accept the marriage, and refused to allow him and his wife to enter the house. He said further that he had attempted suicide also.
He titled that video ‘Last Message’.
Dobhal’s brother, however, has disputed his account.
According to Kalam Dobhal, his brother had cheated on his wife and physically assaulted her, which he claimed led to her leaving him. Dobhal did not respond to his brother’s claims before the crash.
