15 year old boy kills classmate in Karnataka hostel, 8 people injured
A very shocking incident came to light on Saturday night at Gurukul International Residential School in Ballari district of Karnataka, where one student died while eight other students were injured in an attack in the hostel. This incident created an atmosphere of fear and chaos in the entire school campus.

According to preliminary information, this incident happened after dinner. At that time the students were returning to their rooms and preparing to sleep. Meanwhile, it is alleged that a student of about 15 years old took out an iron rod from his bed frame and suddenly attacked other students present in the hostel. Due to this sudden attack, the students present there got scared and many students woke up from their sleep and started running here and there.
Many students were injured during the attack. The most seriously injured was a Class 9 student, who suffered serious injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but he died during treatment. Apart from this, seven other students were also injured in this attack. The condition of two of the injured students is said to be critical. All the injured have been admitted to Ballari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) for treatment, where a team of doctors is treating them.
Hearing the screams in the hostel during the incident, the warden reached the spot and tried to control the situation. However, when he tried to stop the accused student, the attacker attacked him too. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of chaos was created in the hostel and taking advantage of this, the accused student managed to escape from the school premises.
Police started investigation
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and the entire school campus was surrounded. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police has immediately started investigation. According to Karnataka Police officials, a case has been registered against the accused minor on the basis of the complaint. Since the age of the accused is below 18 years, he is considered as a “child in conflict with the law” in the language of law.
The police have also registered an FIR against the administrative body of the school and separate teams have been formed to search for the accused student. After this incident, security has been increased in the school and surrounding areas, while the police is also thoroughly investigating the reasons behind the attack.
