Enmity between Iran, Israel and America is at its peak in the region. There are continuous attacks on military centers and important structures. Retaliatory actions have gained momentum.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced the death of Major Sorfli Devious of the New York National Guard posted in Kuwait. DeVries, 46, died in a non-combat incident March 6 at Camp Buehring. Officials have described it as different from war.
DeVries, a resident of Cambria Heights, Queens, was assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division. Investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.
The Iran-Israel conflict, which started in late February, also engulfed the US military. The Saudi attack was the first major casualty this month. Iranian responses hit bases in several countries.
