Delhi Liquor Scam Case: High Court notice to 23 people including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia in Delhi liquor scam case
New Delhi. Hearing was held in the Delhi High Court today on the CBI’s petition challenging the Rouse Avenue Court’s decision to discharge 23 accused, including Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia, in the Delhi liquor scam case. The High Court has put a stay on the lower court’s direction to take departmental action against the CBI officer. Along with this, notice has been issued to 23 people including them and they have been asked to file their reply. The High Court has also said that the proceedings in the ED case will be postponed until the hearing in this case is completed.
The High Court has fixed March 16 for the next hearing of the case. SG Tushar Mehta, appearing for CBI, argued in the court that this liquor scam is one of the biggest scams in the history of Delhi. This liquor policy was prepared to benefit certain people. The investigation revealed many irregularities, bribes worth crores of rupees were given and transactions were done through hawala. Even that money was used for assembly elections in Goa.

SG Mehta further said that we have many evidences including emails and WhatsApp chats which have been collected by the investigating agency. Let us tell you that on February 27, the Rouse Avenue Court had acquitted all the accused and said that prima facie neither any criminal conspiracy nor any credible evidence is visible in this case. Without evidence the allegation is not proved. After the court’s decision, Arvind Kejriwal had accused BJP that this conspiracy was hatched to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party.
