Haryana Film Festival will be held every year in DLCSUPVA, CM announced in the budget

Haryana Film Festival will now be organized every year at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPAWA). This has been announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in the state budget. According to the provision made in the budget, the Art and Culture Department of the state will cooperate in organizing the film festival.

 

Provision for organizing a film festival has been made for the first time in the state. Before this, no film festival of any kind has been organized at the government level in Haryana. The way the provision has been made in the budget, it is clear that the state government is making every possible effort to take the art and culture of the state to new heights.

Provision made in the budget

Vice Chancellor of DLC Supwa, Dr. Amit Arya said that in the budget presented in the Assembly for the year 2026-27 by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as Finance Minister, he has announced the organization of a film festival under point number 131 on page number 71. It said that Haryana Film Festival will be organized every year in collaboration with Supava Rohtak. It will provide a new platform to regional cinema, independent filmmakers, student creators and documentary makers.

 

Dr. Arya said that the Chief Minister has announced this provision in the name of art and culture. If we look at it, at present the artists, songs, music, albums etc. of Haryana are making waves across the country. Many talented actors have got opportunities in Bollywood films. Similarly, DLCSUPWA is the first university of its kind in the country, in which various degree courses are being offered in acting, direction, cinematography, editing, audiography.

The glory of short films and documentaries

After completing the above studies, the students here are proving their talent in the film industry of India and abroad. Dr. Arya said that short films and documentaries prepared by the students of Supava are being screened in film festivals across the country and the world, and are also winning many awards. This shows that DLCSUPWA is preparing students as per the demand of the film industry.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that the announcement of Haryana Film Festival in Supwa in the budget is definitely a commendable step of the state government. This will not only save the art and culture of the state, but will also give a different kind of exposure to the students of Supwa. They will be able to see the film world closely in their own campus.
