Tremendous craze for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’; More than 2 lakh tickets sold even before release
Director Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is showing signs of a strong start at the box office even before its release. There are still about nine days left for the release of the film, but more than 2 lakh tickets have been sold in advance booking for its paid preview. So far, the film has earned around Rs 12.29 crore for paid previews without blocked seats. When block seats are included, this figure reaches to Rs 18.1 crore. This collection has come only from paid preview bookings, which can be gauged from the huge curiosity of the audience towards the film.
The trailer of the film was released a few days ago and the makers announced that the film will release in theaters on March 19, while paid preview shows will begin from March 18. As soon as the ticket sales started for the paid preview, a large number of viewers made bookings.
Trade analysts estimate that considering the current trend, this film of director Aditya Dhar can collect Rs 30 to 35 crore from paid previews alone. If this happens then it can break many records.
Currently, the record of paid preview collection is in the name of Telugu film They Call Him OG, which had earned around Rs 21 crore in this category. It is believed in trade circles that Dhurandhar 2 can surpass this record.
Earlier, Dhurandhar was released in December last year and had a net collection of Rs 835.85 crore in India, while its worldwide gross collection reached Rs 1002.13 crore. It is expected that its second part can perform even bigger than the first.
According to box office analysts, if the film gets a strong opening, it can surpass the lifetime collection of the first part within a few days. There are also speculations in the trade that the film may cross the Rs 2000 crore mark globally.
The prices of paid preview tickets of the film in Mumbai are said to be ranging from Rs 180 to Rs 2900. Due to the positive response to the trailer and the success of the first part, there is tremendous excitement about the film among the audience.
