Attack on Bahrain’s largest oil refinery, a big blow to the US Fifth Fleet
Amidst the ongoing war in the Middle East, there has been a major attack on Bahrain’s largest oil refinery BAPCO. According to reports, the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted this refinery, after which a massive fire broke out in the refinery.
The BAPCO refinery produces approximately 3.5 million barrels of oil per day and is considered a major source of fuel supply for the US Fifth Fleet deployed in the Gulf region. This attack on the refinery has not only affected the oil supply chain, but has also proved to be a major blow to the US Army.
This attack could further increase the tense situation in the Middle East, which could also create a risk of instability in the global energy market.
