EntertainmentDirected by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri in lead roles, O’Romeo, which also stars Nana Patekar, Farida Dalal, Avinash Tiwari, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and others, is now in its final stages at the box office.
This romantic action drama, produced in support of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, remained flat on Wednesday due to the festival of Holi. The film earned another Rs 70 lakh, taking its third week collection to Rs 5.20 crore in 6 days. Currently earning Rs 57.45 crore, the film will end its third week with around Rs 58 crore nett.
Since there is no major release till Dhurandhar 2, O’ Romeo will continue to run in theaters for two more weeks. However, it doesn’t have much power left now. It wants to end its entire box office journey with a net earning of Rs 60 crore at the Indian box office.
Shahid Kapoor’s film has not performed well at the box office, whatever numbers it has been able to do is with the help of Buy-One-Get-One offer. BOGO may help envision a higher NETT number, but it comes at the cost of extra spending under SHARE or P&A, anyway one might want to see it. Still, even if the film had done a little better, like Teri Baat Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, it still would not have been enough to cover the budget. The cost of the film was a bit high considering its face value.
