Arshdeep had hit the ball to Mitchell during the match
Actually, during New Zealand’s innings, Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh was bowling in the 11th over. On the fifth ball of the over, Mitchell played a defensive shot and the ball bounced and reached Arshdeep. After this, Arshdeep hit the ball on Mitchell’s thigh in the follow throw. Mitchell became very angry with this action of Arshdeep and started moving towards him in an aggressive manner. After this incident the tension on the field increased. Seeing the matter escalating, Captain Suryakumar Yadav came to the rescue. He talked to Mitchell and tried to calm the atmosphere. On the other hand, the umpire also talked to Arshdeep and explained to him.

Why did Arshdeep hit the ball?
After winning the final, when Arshdeep was asked about this incident, he answered the question in a very funny manner. He said that, I immediately ran away and apologized to Mitchell. Arshdeep further said that when I threw the ball, it reverse swung and it hit him. Further talking about the role of the bowlers, he said that our aim was only to restrict the opposing team to minimum runs.
