Delhi: Indian batsman Rinku Singh, after becoming T20 World Champion, has shared an emotional post on social media remembering his late father Khanchand Singh. While celebrating this biggest moment of her career, she expressed the pain she was feeling due to the absence of the person who helped Rinku the most in reaching this point.
Remembering his father, Rinku has shared a picture on Instagram, in which he is seen with his father. Rinku wrote in the caption of the post,
‘Never have so many days gone by without talking to you. I don’t know how my life will go on without you, but I will need you at every step. You taught me that duty comes first, so I was just trying to fulfill your dream on the field. Now that your dream has come true, I just feel that I wish you were with me. You will be missed in every small and big happiness. I will miss you a lot, Papa… a lot.
Rinku’s father died of cancer
Let us tell you that Rinku’s father died on 27 February. He had lost the battle of life while fighting stage-4 liver cancer. He breathed his last in a private hospital in Greater Noida. The last rites of Khanchand Singh ji were performed in Aligarh, where a large number of people came to bid him farewell. Rinku had reached Aligarh from Chennai to bid his last farewell to his father. Rinku looked completely broken during his father’s funeral procession.
Rinku played 3 matches in T20 World Cup
Left-handed batsman Rinku got to play three matches in the T20 World Cup. During this period he scored 17 runs. Rinku remained unbeaten twice. Rinku remained in the news for his excellent fielding throughout the tournament.
