Big reward for winning the World Cup, BCCI will give Rs 131 crore to Team India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the reward for Team India, which won the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time and for the third time overall. A total of Rs 131 crore will be given to Team India. BCCI had given a reward of Rs 125 crore to the Indian team for winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, which means an increase of Rs 6 crore has been made this time compared to last time. Last time the Indian team had won the title against South Africa.

 

On this, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has said, ‘An amount of Rs 131 crore is being given to the winning team. This is the biggest amount till date, the biggest prize is being received, so congratulations to the players and support staff. Let us tell you that by winning this title, the Indian team has made many unique records in its name. The Indian team is the first to win the title at home, the second consecutive title and is the only team to win the World Cup a total of three times.

A statement issued by BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, ‘Apart from defending its title, the Indian team has also become the first team to have won the T20 World Cup thrice so far. The board congratulates all the players, support staff and selectors for this.

 

How was your journey to India?

 

The Indian team played this year’s tournament very well. Earlier, players like Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson, who came at the last moment in the team which was struggling with the form of many players, played brilliantly on the spot. Team India, which had not lost a single match in the league stage, had to face defeat at the hands of South Africa in the Super-8. After that the Indian team was in a do or die situation and it played the same way.

After losing to South Africa in the Super-8, India defeated West Indies and Zimbabwe to reach the semi-finals. After defeating England badly in the semi-finals, the Indian team also achieved a one-sided victory against New Zealand in the final.
