Creepy conspiracy to remove wife from the way: Teacher husband first poisoned her thrice, then caused ‘accident’ with betel nut killer
Buldhana. A sensational incident has come to light from Buldhana district of Maharashtra, which has put the sacred relationship between husband and wife to shame. Here a teacher hatched such a dreadful conspiracy to remove his own teacher wife that even the police were stunned. The accused husband first tried to kill his wife thrice by poisoning her and when she survived, he got her murdered by faking a road accident with the help of betel nut killer.
Accident or murder? This is how the police became suspicious
The incident took place on the morning of 2 March 2026. 37-year-old Vrushali Prakash Gawande was going to the Zilla Parishad school in Pimpalgaon Kale on her scooter. Near Kavthal village, a white Tata Intra car hit his scooter hard from behind. Vrushali died on the spot in this horrific collision. Initially it was believed to be a tragic road accident, but investigation at the scene and technical evidence raised doubts in the minds of the police.
The plan to poison him thrice failed
The truth that came out in the investigation of Jalgaon Jamod police was shocking. Investigation revealed that Vrushali’s husband Prakash Ananta Gawande was the mastermind of this entire conspiracy. Prakash wanted to get rid of his wife. First three times he tried to kill Vrushali by mixing poison in her food, but nature had other plans and Vrushali survived each time.
1 lakh betel nut and ‘accident’ conspiracy
After the poison plan failed, Prakash, through his friend Mangesh Chulkar, gave a contract of Rs 1 lakh to a driver named Manish Suryavanshi. According to the plan:
Manish reccees Vrushali and tracks her school time.
On the morning of March 2, he deliberately hit Vrushali’s scooter with his car.
To cement the conspiracy, Prakash himself reached the spot and sat near his wife’s dead body and cried for hours, so that no one would suspect him.
CCTV and call records revealed the secret
When Police Inspector Nitin Patil’s team scrutinized the CCTV footage of the area and did a technical investigation of the phone records, Manish Suryavanshi came under suspicion. On being strictly interrogated, Manish spilled the beans and told how Prakash had given him money to kill his wife.
All three accused behind bars
Police have arrested the main accused husband Prakash Gawande, middleman Mangesh Chulkar and driver Manish Suryavanshi in this case. A case of murder has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The court has sent all three accused on police remand for three days.
