PAK embarrassed again, player fined for misbehaving with female hotel staff
T20 World Cup: Pakistan has again faced embarrassment on the global stage! It seems that such embarrassment and humiliation no longer bothers him. The latest news is that a Pakistani cricketer has been scolded for misbehaving with a female hotel staff in Sri Lanka. Pakistan Cricket Board has not revealed the name of the player, but he has already been fined. According to a report by Telecom Asia Sports, the incident occurred before Pakistan’s last Super 8 game against co-host Sri Lanka.
PCB did not reveal the name of the player
“Ahead of Pakistan’s last Super 8 match against Sri Lanka, a player of the Pakistan World Cup team misbehaved with a female housekeeping staff member,” sources told Telecom Asia Sport. “The staff screamed and called for help, upon which the hotel staff came to his rescue and informed Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema about the matter,” the report said, quoting team sources. The report further said, “The top management of the Golden Crown Hotel wanted the matter to be dealt with sternly, but Cheema apologized on behalf of the player and fined him for the misconduct.”
Despite winning their last Super 8 game against Sri Lanka by five runs, Pakistan failed to make the final four. He was dropped on the basis of his net run rate.
Unknown player will appear before PCB
It is believed that the said player may also appear before the Disciplinary Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and may receive further punishment. It will be interesting to see what action will be taken against the player and what will happen if his name surfaces.
