Indonesia has decided to purchase BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from India to strengthen its defense force. According to media reports, the value of this deal is said to be around $200 to $350 million (about Rs 1,600 to 2,900 crore). Indonesian Defense Ministry spokesperson confirmed that an agreement has been signed with India for BrahMos missile system.
BrahMos missile: fast and accurate
BrahMos is considered to be one of the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in the world. It has been developed jointly by India and Russia. It can be launched from land, sea and air. Its specialty is its speed and accuracy, making it extremely difficult to stop. This is the reason why many countries are showing interest in this missile system.
