The journey from Ahmedabad to Kalol is going to be completed in a few minutes. 50 percent work of Ahmedabad-Kalol Link Road has been completed and the remaining 50 percent work will be completed soon. There is a possibility that people will get superfast connectivity till Kalol from August.
In view of the rapid expansion of Ahmedabad city, the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is working on a large scale for smooth road connectivity in the surrounding areas. In this series, a 12 km long new link road is being constructed by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority from Jaspur-Khodiyar to Kalol. 50 percent work of this project, which is being built at a cost of approximately Rs 80 crore, has been completed.
Local resident Sameer Bhai told that it used to take 45 minutes to go from Ahmedabad to Kalol. In the coming days, it will be possible to reach from here in 20 to 25 minutes and the distance will also be less which will save time.
Taxi driver Irfan Mansoori said that the new road being built from Jaspur to Kalol will greatly benefit the taxi drivers. Reducing the distance by 8 kilometers will make a difference to the average. Also, it will take less time for passengers to travel.
The 60 meter wide modern link road will directly connect SP Ring Road to Kalol via Jaspur and Khodiyar. With its construction, vehicles will not need to pass through Adalaj Circle and the journey from Ahmedabad to Kalol will be completed in a few minutes.
CEA of Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority DP Desai said that when the main road is built, it becomes a medium for economic activity. This will boost the economy and divide the traffic pressure. Presently, most of the vehicles which used to go from Ahmedabad via Adalaj will now use this road, because the distance will be reduced by 7 to 10 kilometers.
The Ahmedabad-Kalol Link Road is planned to be dedicated to the public by August 2026. While getting superfast road connectivity from Ahmedabad will give a boost to the real estate sector, the strong infrastructure in the area will also make traveling to areas like Satellite, Thaltej, Sarkhej and Bodakdev easier.
