Now the company has given clarification on this matter.
The company has denied the rumors of layoffs on social media and said that at present the company is not thinking of making any major reduction in the number of employees. In a regulatory filing last Monday, the IT services firm said claims being widely shared online about job cuts are false and misleading.
What did the company say in clarification?
Tech Mahindra said in the filing that the company, on its own initiative, considers it necessary to clearly inform the stock exchanges that no such proposal is under consideration and categorically denies any such market rumours. After this statement of the company, Tech Mahindra employees heaved a sigh of relief. According to new company disclosures, Tech Mahindra employs around 1.5 lakh people across the globe and its headcount has remained broadly stable in recent quarters.
Company’s focus on improving productivity
Management previously said the company was focusing on improving productivity on fixed-price projects, which involves redeploying employees from completed or underutilized assignments to new projects, rather than reducing headcount. This clarification is being given at a time when Tech Mahindra is increasing investment in Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation.
The company recently announced its collaboration with Microsoft to launch an ontology-driven agentic AI platform designed to accelerate telecom and enterprise data modernization.

Condition of Tech Mahindra shares
Tech Mahindra Shares of are seen trading at Rs 1325.50 on NSE in morning trade today on March 10, 2026, which shows a decline of about 0.81 per cent from the previous closing price of Rs 1336.30.
