Kirti Azad’s controversial statement

Actually, after winning the World Cup final, captain Suryakumar Yadav, head coach Gautam Gambhir and Jai Shah had gone to a Hanuman temple near the stadium to pay obeisance. TMC MP Kirti Azad expressed displeasure when its video went viral. Terming it ‘shameful’, he said that this is a common victory of 140 crore Indians and sports should not be linked to any particular religion.

Ishan Kishan’s dignified response

When journalists in Patna questioned Ishaan on this bitter statement. So instead of getting into controversy he gave a very positive answer. He said that after winning such a big tournament, only good and game-centric questions should be asked. Ishaan very politely interrupted the journalist and said that he did not want to say anything on Kirti Azad’s personal opinion. Rather, they want the entire country to celebrate this great victory together. He ended his speech politely.

His strike rate of 193.29 proved to be a disaster for the opposition teams. He scored three brilliant half-centuries in the entire tournament. Especially his courageous innings of 77 runs played against Pakistan in Colombo had given the Indian team a seemingly impossible victory. His fighting game had made India’s journey to the final much easier.
