The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a ₹131 crore cash reward for India national cricket team after their historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The announcement was made on Tuesday to honour the team’s outstanding performance in the tournament.
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8. With this victory, India successfully defended their T20 World Cup title and became the first team in history to win the tournament three times.
Apart from the BCCI reward, the team also received about $2.34 million (around ₹21.5 crore) as the official prize money from the International Cricket Council for winning the tournament. The ₹131-crore reward will be shared among the players, coaching staff and support personnel, recognising their contribution to India’s historic achievement.
The bonus is ₹6 crore higher than the reward announced after the 2024 T20 World Cup victory, highlighting the board’s appreciation for the team’s continued dominance in international cricket.
