Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi reached Sonipat on the morning of March 10 and attended the wedding of farmer Sanjay Malik’s daughter in Madina village of Gohana. He spent about 20 minutes with the family and blessed the newly married couple. There was tight security in the area. After attending the wedding, the farmer’s daughter also fed him food with her own hands.

A Congress leader from the district told The Indian Express, ‘When people saw that Rahul Gandhi had arrived at the wedding of a common farmer’s daughter, there was a wave of happiness in the village. Special preparations were made to welcome him. Hearing the news of Gandhi’s arrival, senior Congress leaders also reached there.
