Washington/Tehran. Amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the US has said that its military is carrying out a campaign to destroy Iran’s missile production infrastructure.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt said that the US military operation conducted in the last 10 days has been very successful and the troops are moving faster than expected. He said that the US military has so far destroyed more than 50 ships of the Iranian Navy, including a large drone carrier ship.
Levitt said that this action is being taken under the US military operation Operation Epic Fury and its purpose is to weaken Iran’s missile and military capabilities. He said that President Donald Trump is confident that the goals of the campaign will be achieved soon.
On the other hand, Iran has claimed that it has targeted Israel’s energy infrastructure. According to the spokesman of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Armed Forces Headquarters, the oil refinery and fuel storage tanks located in Haifa were targeted through drone strikes.
Iran says the attack is part of the 33rd wave of its retaliatory military campaign and was carried out in response to recent attacks on Iranian oil depots and energy facilities.
