Mercedes Benz CLA Launched: Prices To Start From 55 Lakh Tentatively
Mercedes Benz India has announced the tentative pricing of its highly anticipated electric sedan, the CLA EV. It will start at Rs 55 lakh, making it the most affordable electric vehicle in Mercedes Benz’ India lineup. It will be offered in two variants, namely CLA 200 Standard Range and CLA 250+ Long Range. Bookings of this EV sedan have commenced, and interested buyers can reserve it with a booking amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Mercedes Benz CLA EV tentative pricing revealed
Mercedes Benz will commence the deliveries of the CLA 250+ Long Range by the end of April. Meanwhile, the deliveries of the CLA 200 Standard Range will commence by June of this year. As for the pricing, the CLA 200 Standard Range model has been announced with a tentative starting price tag of Rs 55 lakh. On the other hand, the Long Range model has been priced at Rs 59 lakh.
The Mercedes Benz CLA electric sedan is based on the Mercedes Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), and it has been specifically designed for the next generation compact electric vehicles from the brand. This architecture supports 800V charging systems, next generation digital architecture, and highly efficient aerodynamics.
Mercedes Benz CLA EV dimensions and design

Dimensionally, the new Mercedes Benz CLA EV coupe electric sedan measures 4,723 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,468 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,790 mm. In terms of the design, the CLA EV boasts a coupe-like silhouette but has now been changed extensively using the EV-focused design language, which gives it a futuristic and aerodynamic appearance.
At the front, it gets a closed-off grille, a new and unique illuminated grille with 142 animated three-pointed star elements, and LED headlights with star-signature lighting graphics. Additionally, it also gets connected LED taillights, which extend across the rear. The same star-shaped lighting has been used in the rear as well.

Other notable highlights of the Mercedes Benz CLA EV include flush-type door handles, sculpted and smooth body surfaces, and a 0.21 Cd drag coefficient. This low drag coefficient helps in improving the range of the vehicle and also increases the high-speed stability as well.
In terms of the design differences between the CLA 250+ Long Range and 200 Standard Range models, the former gets sportier front and rear bumpers, 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, aluminium pedals, and overall looks more aggressive. Meanwhile, the Standard Range model gets comfort seats, a multifunction sports leather steering wheel, and two interior trim options.

Moving inside the cabin, the Mercedes Benz CLA EV gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a 14-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and the latest generation MBUX interface. It also comes with a MBUX Virtual Assistant with AI-powered conversational voice control and also includes ChatGPT and Google Gemini integration.
As for the powertrain side of things, the Mercedes Benz CLA 250+ Long Range gets an 85.5 kWh battery pack offering a range of 792 km. It will come equipped with a 272 bhp electric motor mounted in the rear and will be able to reach from 0-100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds. As for the standard model, it gets a smaller battery pack offering a range of 542 km. This sedan also supports 240 kW DC fast charging as well.
