Punjab Government Schools : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said that Punjab is witnessing a decisive shift from decades of political exploitation to an era of development, education reforms and public welfare based governance. He asserted that the people of the state will once again use the ‘broom’ to wipe out the Congress and Akali Dal-BJP, which have ruled Punjab one by one, ignoring public welfare.

Rejuvenation of government schools

Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone for renovation of 237 rural link roads worth Rs 168.44 crore at Qadian in border district Gurdaspur, the Chief Minister said the Punjab government was strengthening rural infrastructure, creating employment opportunities and rejuvenating government schools. He also revealed that the previous governments had given priority to commission and power politics more than the needs of the common people.

Attracted investment proposals worth crores of rupees

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that previous governments had closed government schools and ignored the border areas, but the Punjab government is building new modern schools, sending teachers abroad for training so that the children of Punjab do not have to go abroad for education. Investment proposals worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore are being attracted which is expected to generate 5.20 lakh jobs and bring development to every corner of Punjab. He said that it has been decided to make Kahnunwan a sub-division so that all the main government offices can be brought under one roof.

No other agenda except the common man

Addressing a public meeting, the Chief Minister said that these parties have always fooled the people in their lust for power. He said that these parties have no other agenda other than looting the state capital and exploiting the common man. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that for him the people of the state are supreme and the state government has taken unprecedented initiatives for the welfare of the people.

Blind race just to gain power

The Chief Minister said that the smugglers who have represented the Majha region for a long time have ruined our generations, for which such people should be taught a lesson in the upcoming assembly elections. He said that we eat biscuits made by bakeries whereas these leaders, educated in convent schools in the hills, have always used gold biscuits smuggled by their fathers. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders have no agenda to serve the common man and are only in a blind race to gain power.

Representation of the area in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha

The Chief Minister said that these leaders with royal style have no match with the common people and their cars, overcoats, wardrobe or anything does not match with us. He said that those who represented the area in the Assembly, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha never paid attention to its development and on the contrary installed tolls on the roads. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the houses of these veteran leaders are also divided into two parties because flags of two parties are hung on the houses of these leaders.

Chief Minister’s faces more than workers’

The Chief Minister said that every leader in Congress wants to become the head of the state. He said that they have more faces of the Chief Minister than the common workers to work in the elections. He said that this is why their top leaders openly ignored these leaders during a recently concluded rally in the state. Taking a jibe at the Congress leader dreaming of taking over power in the state, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Congress party is a divided house which will collapse only due to internal fighting.

Congress leaders do not have a vision for development

The Chief Minister said that it is very sad that the top Congress leader who has come to unite these leaders who are fighting for power does not even know how to pronounce his name. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these Congress leaders have no vision for the development of the state and their only aim is to take power and loot the wealth of Punjab but their dreams will never be fulfilled. He said that earlier these traditional parties used to just wait for their turn to grab power but now the broom is cleaning the mess created by these parties.

Pushed the youth into the quagmire of drugs

Attacking the Akali leadership, the Chief Minister said that those who are not able to find even 11 members to form their party committee are dreaming of winning 117 seats in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann reminded the people that these leaders have given protection to gangsters in the state and by protecting drug smugglers, they have pushed the youth into the quagmire of drugs. He said that Akali Dal is a party of spent cartridges whom the people have repeatedly shown the way out of power. He said that Akalis can misuse religion but people will not fall into their trap now.

Complete development of the state took place during his tenure

The Chief Minister said that the Akali leadership was building castles in the air to mislead the people of the state, but Punjabis would not fall into their trap. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people would never forgive the Akalis for their sins and would teach them a lesson again. He said that Sukhbir Badal claims that the entire development of the state has taken place during his tenure but he does not mention the incidents of sacrilege that took place during his tenure in the state.

Sikh sect and anti-Punjab

The Chief Minister said that these people have hurt the sentiments of common people by using religion for their narrow interests, which is unforgivable. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Akalis are in collusion with the forces who are anti-Sikhism and anti-Punjab. He said that these leaders are the biggest opportunists, who instead of worrying about the state, work only to fulfill their narrow interests.

Looted Punjab with mutual collusion

The Chief Minister said that in fact the traditional parties are jealous of him because he has made the welfare of the common people his main agenda. He said that earlier Congress and BJP used to enjoy power alternately and looted Punjab in mutual collusion while protecting each other’s interests. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he used to wait for his turn to plunder the state.

Voice against heinous acts

The Chief Minister said that this dirty game stopped when AAP entered the country’s politics, but these parties do not want this to happen. He said that anyone who raises voice against corruption and their nefarious activities has to face their wrath and is put in jails without any reason. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these corrupt leaders target honest people and file false cases against them.

The future of the people of the state has been ruined

The Chief Minister said that in the last four years, unprecedented steps have been taken by the State Government for the welfare of the people. He said that the opposition is not concerned about the welfare of the people or their happiness. He said that the objective of these leaders is limited only to grabbing power. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the poor and backward policies of these people had ruined the future of the people of the state, who had to do odd jobs to earn two square meals a day, while these people enjoyed life on the basis of ‘gold biscuits’ smuggled in by their ancestors.

Free electricity to more than 90 percent houses

The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government is using the exchequer wisely for the welfare of the people of the state. He said that more than 90 percent of the houses in the state are getting free electricity and now farmers are also getting electricity during day time. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that at a time when the Central Government is giving away the country’s properties to its close friends at low prices, on the other hand the Punjab Government itself bought a private thermal plant and named it after Shri Guru Amardas Ji.

Monthly financial assistance to women

The Chief Minister said that the State Government has started ‘Mukhyamantri Mavan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’, under which Rs 1000 per month will be given to women above 18 years of age of general category and Rs 1500 per month to women of Scheduled Caste category as financial assistance. He said that even Rs 1000-1500 is an important amount for the common people, especially the poor class. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this amount is a symbol of respect for mothers and daughters and the smile on the faces of women due to this scheme gives them immense satisfaction.

National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India

The Chief Minister said that the state government is sending teachers and principals abroad to further improve its capacity to teach students in government schools. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that Punjab has left Kerala behind in the National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India. He said that students are being given special coaching for competitive examinations like Armed Forces Preparation, NEET, JEE, CLAT and NIFT.

So many facilities for the common man

The Chief Minister said that he is happy to inform that about 300 students of School of Eminence and other government schools have cleared the JEE Mains, JEE Advanced and NEET examinations. He said that for the first time, farmers are now getting electricity for their fields during day time, which has brought a big change in their lives. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that on one hand the state government is providing so many facilities to the common man, on the other hand the BJP government of Delhi has stopped all such facilities provided to the public after coming to power. He said that the opposition parties are against starting any policy in the interest of the common people and always oppose such policies.

reduced the economic burden on the public

The Chief Minister said that to provide comprehensive health services to the people, the State Government has launched the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana, which is the first scheme of its kind in the country and provides cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh to every family in the State. He said that it is a matter of pride and satisfaction that Punjab is the first Indian state to provide such comprehensive health coverage, which has significantly reduced the economic burden on the public while ensuring quality health services. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the objective of this historic step is to provide comprehensive health services to all the families of the state.

ITI will also be started again

The Chief Minister also announced that Kahanuwan will be made a sub-division. He also said that a state-of-the-art stadium would also be set up and closed ITIs would also be restarted. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the work of laying sewerage in Qadian and Dhaliwal will also be completed in a time bound manner.

Promotion of investment and industrial infrastructure in the state

The Chief Minister further said that a training center on the lines of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Academy would be set up in the Majha region. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the issue of reopening of Dhaliwal Woolen Mill will also be raised before the Central Government. He said that the State Government is committed to promote investment and industrial infrastructure in the State and through its efforts has so far received investment proposals worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore, which can generate 5.20 lakh new employment opportunities for the youth.
