Kidney Damage Warning: These daily habits of yours are silently spoiling kidney health, improve them today otherwise….
Eating anything when hungry, staying awake late at night, taking painkillers frequently to avoid headache or body ache, and lack of activity in daily life, these are some of the symptoms that have become deeply ingrained in your life and you too may be troubled by kidney disease.
Dr. Himanshu (Head of Department, Nephrology, VMMC, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi) explains that you will not know whether your kidneys are functioning properly until they are 50% damaged. This means that early symptoms of kidney failure are difficult to detect. Suddenly, some serious kidney problem may occur.
In such cases, people seek medical treatment only when the kidney disease is severe. Kidney is an important organ that does not produce new cells throughout life, hence special care is required. Take a healthy diet and avoid lifestyle related diseases to avoid putting too much pressure on this important organ.

Don’t ignore kidney stones
In India, kidney related diseases are occurring at a younger age than in western or developed countries. Among the many reasons for this, the biggest reason is not screening on time. Timely screening helps in starting treatment and brings awareness and change in eating habits.
Increasing work stress, lack of sleep and awareness about food habits are causing rapid increase in obesity among young people. Due to this, hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes are occurring at an early age. These diseases have a bad effect on the kidneys.
Diabetes is considered to be the biggest cause of kidney failure. People often ignore the problem of kidney stones considering it a common thing. This is also a major cause of kidney damage, so stones should not be ignored.
Increase physical activity to avoid kidney stones. Make sure to exercise and take a walk daily. Apart from this, if you are going to the gym or taking excessive amounts of steroids, protein powder or supplements to tone your body, then this can also be risky for your kidneys.
Keep these things in mind:
After the age of 30-35, you should get a complete health checkup done once a year.
Lack of water in the body can cause dehydration. This will cause urine to become thick and the risk of kidney stones will increase.
Drink plenty of water for healthy kidneys. Urine should be light yellow or white.
Avoid food items that increase uric acid, like red meat, alcohol, seafood, etc.
Control salt intake. Prefer home cooked food.
Excessive smoking and drinking increases the risk of kidney damage.
Signs of worsening of the disease:
swelling of the legs and around the eyes
waking up frequently at night to urinate
Fatigue even with normal activities
Loss of appetite, rapid weight loss, etc.
