Army foils infiltration bid in J&K’s Rajouri, one terrorist killed; search on for another
Amid its ongoing conflict with Afghanistan, Pakistan allegedly attempted to push terrorists across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Alert Army troops foiled an infiltration attempt in the Nowshera sector by eliminating one infiltrator.
According to reports, alert troops detected the movement of two suspected terrorists in the Jhangar area of Nowshera on Tuesday morning. The troops engaged the infiltrators, resulting in an encounter in which one terrorist was killed.
The operation was launched by the Army’s White Knight Corps, which is responsible for operations in the region. After the infiltration attempt was foiled, the area was cordoned off to track the second terrorist, believed to have fled towards the nearby forests.
“Own troops have been reoriented to search for the second terrorist and to ensure relentless domination of the area, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A robust operational posture and heightened alert continue across the Nowshera sector,” the White Knight Corps of the Army stated.

Meanwhile, security forces launched a search operation in the Samba district after suspected drone activity was detected near the International Border late Monday night.
Officials said the suspected drone movement was noticed over the Daboh area, prompting security forces to initiate countermeasures and deploy additional personnel.
Teams were conducting searches in the area to ensure that no weapons, explosives or narcotics had been dropped from the drone, they said.
Pertinently, drone sightings and attempts to drop arms or narcotics from across the border have been reported in parts of the Jammu region in recent years, prompting security agencies to strengthen surveillance and counter-drone measures along the border.
Officials said the situation is under close watch and further action would be taken based on the findings of the ongoing search operations.
As reported earlier, security forces have been placed on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir following intelligence inputs about possible infiltration attempts by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border.
According to security officials, several terrorist launching pads across the border have reportedly become active in recent days, raising concerns about attempts to push infiltrators into the Union Territory.
Official sources said the Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and police have intensified surveillance and patrolling along the borders, particularly in the Samba, Jammu, Rajouri, and Kupwara sectors.
