UP will soon be a hub of advanced material research, high technology based manufacturing will get a boost.

Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov met CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, CEO of Loham Company, Rajat Verma and Chief of Staff of the company, Ayush Sabat were also present. All three guests appreciated the positive environment of UP regarding investment. CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov, Loham CEO Rajat Verma and Chief of Staff Ayush Sabat to UP.

Promotion of technology based manufacturing

In the meeting, the possibilities of making Uttar Pradesh a major hub of advanced materials research and engineering in the country were discussed. In this sequence, Loham’s plan to set up India’s first “Rare Earth to Magnet” integrated facility in the state was also discussed in detail. With its establishment, high technology based manufacturing is going to be promoted in the country.

Applied in battery technology and energy field

Nobel laureate Konstantin Novoselov, who is world famous for his discovery of graphene, is working with Lohm Company as a strategic advisor and partner. Their goal will be to apply advanced materials science on an industrial scale to battery technology and the energy sector.

Better recovery of important minerals has to be decided

The collaboration between Lohm and Novoselov will focus on two specific areas. The first is to increase the capacity of next generation lithium-ion batteries by using 2D materials (such as graphene). With this, life has to do more with security. On the other hand, better recovery of critical minerals is to be ensured by developing advanced recycling systems of batteries and permanent magnets. This strengthens the circular economy. This cooperation is being considered important for India’s “Make in India” and green energy vision.
