As part of the campaign against foreign nationals living illegally in the North-West district of Delhi, the Foreigner Cell of Delhi Police has once again taken a major action and arrested two Bangladeshi nationals.

The special thing is that both of them had already been deported from India, but despite this they had again entered India illegally and were living in Delhi. According to the police, on March 9, 2026, the Foreigner Cell had received secret information that two suspicious persons were active near Jahangirpuri metro station and were involved in illegal activities. Based on the information, the team increased surveillance in the area and after continuous surveillance took both of them into custody.

During interrogation, both of them initially identified themselves as Indian citizens, but contradictions in their answers and suspicious behavior made the police suspicious of them. During the investigation, the police examined their documents, analyzed digital activities and examined photo evidence.

This made it clear that both the persons were citizens of Bangladesh and were living in India without valid documents. Investigation also revealed that both of them were deported from Uttarakhand last year for staying in India illegally, but despite this they crossed the border again to India and got involved in illegal activities in Delhi.

In fact, recently the Foreigner Cell had also deported three Bangladeshi women, who were involved in human trafficking and prostitution related rackets. During interrogation, the women had revealed that a Bangladeshi national named ‘Vikas’ had brought them to India illegally and used to arrange clients for them in Delhi.

After this revelation, the police started monitoring social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Meanwhile, it was revealed that the same person and his alleged wife were active around Jahangirpuri metro station. After this, the police formed a special team, which included SI Shyambir, ASI Vijay, ASI Rajendra, Lady Head Constable Deepak and Constable Deepak Bangar.

This team was working under the leadership of Inspector Vipin Kumar and under the supervision of ACP Rajeev Kumar. The team also conducted a sting operation in the area, in which policemen contacted suspects involved in illegal activities. As soon as the suspects agreed, the police team caught them on the spot. During the search, two smartphones were recovered from them, which had the banned IMO app installed. Apart from this, six Bangladeshi national identity cards were also found in the gallery of his mobile phone, which were confiscated by the police.

These seizures also confirmed that both the Bangladeshi nationals were living in India illegally and were involved in illegal activities. Police have initiated necessary legal action against both the accused. He was produced before the FRRO for further processing, from where deportation proceedings were initiated against him. Police officials say that the campaign against foreign nationals living illegally in Delhi will continue and strict action will be taken against those who violate the law.

The arrested accused have been identified as Dipto Kumar Pal alias Vikas, 28, and Ruma Begum, 27, who are said to be residents of Dhaka district of Bangladesh.
