Iranian drone crashes near Dubai airport, four injured including Indians
Amid regional tensions, two Iranian drones fell near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, injuring four people, including an Indian. The incident has raised fears of the conflict spilling over into civilian areas.
Dubai Media Office confirmed on its official X account that drone strikes occurred in the vicinity of DXB. The injured included two Ghanaians, a Bangladeshi and an Indian who suffered minor injuries. Air traffic is running completely normal.
The UAE Defense Ministry said that its air defense systems are countering missiles and drones coming from Iran. The ministry appealed to people to follow safety instructions, describing the blasts as the actions of interceptors.
These Iranian attacks are in response to US-Israeli actions that began on February 28. Nine ballistic missiles were detected on Tuesday—eight destroyed, one falling into the sea. Of the 35 drones, 26 were intercepted, nine fell across the border.
A total of 1,475 Iranian UAVs were detected, 1,385 were intercepted, 90 were downed; Eight cruise missiles destroyed. Six from UAE, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh killed, 122 injured in the attacks—citizens from more than 20 countries affected.
The ministry expressed readiness to deal with any threat, promising to protect the sovereignty, security and interests of the UAE. This air war is testing the strength of UAE.
