Cricket Calender 2026: After registering a historic win in the T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian cricket team is once again in the news. After winning the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time, now the eyes of the fans are fixed on when and against which team Team India is going to play on the international field next time.

The last three years have been very good for Indian cricket. In the year 2024, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India won the T20 World Cup title after almost 17 years. After this, in 2025, under the same captaincy, Team India captured the Champions Trophy. In 2026, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India again proved its strength by winning the T20 World Cup.

Strong position in ICC rankings

The Indian team is currently counted among the strongest teams in the world in both limited overs formats—ODI and T20. Even in the ICC rankings, Team India remains near the top position.

Even in Test cricket, the Indian team under the leadership of young captain Shubman Gill is continuously performing competitively and is giving tough competition to the top teams of the world.

The Indian team performed brilliantly and won the title in the T20 World Cup hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

March–May 2026 – Indian Premier League (IPL)

After the World Cup, the focus of cricket will be on IPL, where Indian and foreign players will be seen playing in the world’s most popular T20 league. This league will be played between 26 March-31 May on different cricket grounds in India.

June 2026 – Home series against Afghanistan

There is a possibility of 1 Test and 3 ODI matches being played in this series held in India. Dates and venues have not been announced yet.

July 2026 – England tour

The Indian team will tour England in July, where an exciting series of 5 T20 matches will be played between the two teams. All these matches will be played on historic grounds ranging from Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street to Lord’s, London.

August–September 2026 – Sri Lanka tour

During this period, India will tour Sri Lanka and play a two-Test series there. Dates and venues have not been announced yet.

September–October 2026 – Asian Games

The Indian cricket team is also likely to participate in the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan. This multi-sport competition will be held between 19 September to 4 October 2026. In this tournament, cricket matches will be played in T20 format. The Indian team will be eyeing to defend its title here, as India had created history by winning the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023. In such a situation, the Men in Blue can once again perform strongly and enter the field with the intention of defending the gold medal.

October–November 2026 – New Zealand tour

During this period, India will tour New Zealand, where a full series of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20 matches is likely to take place. Dates and venues have not been announced yet.

December 2026 – Sri Lanka tour of India
