Indian Oil gave saving tips, emphasis on pressure cooker and low flame –

Tezzbuzz Desk – Amidst the increasing tension between Iran and America and instability in the Middle East, the concern of shortage of LPG cylinders in India has increased. Due to shortage of LPG in many parts, restaurants and public catering services have been affected. Keeping this in view, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has shared many advices and tips for the common people to save cooking gas.

IOC’s advice – reduce the flame as soon as it boils.

The IOC has posted a video on social media, which shows how to reduce the heat once food comes to a boil while cooking. This not only cooks the food quickly, but also reduces the wastage of gas. According to Indian Oil, with this method you can save up to 25% LPG, without spending much time in cooking.

excessive use of pressure cooker

The IOC advised households to increase the use of pressure cookers for fuel-efficient cooking. Pressure cooker not only cooks food quickly but also reduces LPG consumption. Additionally, to cook multiple food items at the same time, it is also advised to use a separator in the cooker, which allows rice, pulses and vegetables to be prepared simultaneously.

Easy changes in the kitchen, big savings

IOC said small adjustments like cooking on low flame and using pressure cookers properly can make the kitchen more energy-efficient and help save LPG in uncertain times.

Step into railway and hospitality sector

LPG shortage has also affected big hotels and railway catering services. IRCTC West Zone has directed all catering license holders to adopt electricity-powered alternatives like microwave, induction stove, etc., so that the food service can continue without interruption.

IOC has clarified that in this situation, smart cooking and responsible use of resources is the only solution to deal with the LPG crisis.
