Meanwhile, the US military attacked and destroyed 10 boats suspected of laying mines in a vital shipping route, escalating tensions in one of the world’s most important energy corridors.
Trump issued a warning through a post on Truth social media, saying, ‘Washington is keeping a close eye on any possible attempt to lay mines in the narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to global energy markets. If Iran has laid any mines in the Strait of Hormuz and we have no reports of them, we want them to be removed immediately.

The US President warned Tehran that it would take unprecedented military action if it did not remove any such mines. Trump also said the US is prepared to use advanced technology and missile capabilities to stop any attempts to lay mines in the strategic waterway.
“The same technologies and missile capabilities deployed against drug traffickers are being used to permanently destroy any boat or ship that attempts to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said.
Immediately after this warning, Trump wrote, ‘I am pleased to say that in the last few hours we have targeted and completely destroyed 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships. The action will continue in future also.
At the same time, the US Central Command confirmed these operations and said that US military forces are continuing attacks as part of a comprehensive campaign against Iranian capabilities at sea. Hundreds of air assets continue to provide devastating combat power against the Iranian regime during Operation Epic Fury.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, ‘These operations were conducted under direct orders of the President and their purpose was to prevent threats to global sea lanes. At the direction of President Trump, CENTCOM is destroying inactive minelaying ships in the Strait of Hormuz. We will not allow terrorists to hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage.
US Central Command says, ‘The purpose of these military operations was to limit Iran’s ability to threaten commercial vessels and project power at sea. U.S. forces are weakening the Iranian regime’s ability to project power at sea and harass international shipping. “For years, Iranian forces have threatened freedom of navigation in waters that are essential to American, regional, and global security and prosperity.”
