Attack on Thai cargo ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz
Bangkok. A Thai cargo ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz was attacked on Wednesday, the 12th day of military conflict in West Asia. 23 crew members of the ship have been rescued safely. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said a total of three commercial vessels were targeted in the incident.

Chinese news agency Xinhua and Thailand’s local media quoted the Royal Thai Navy as saying that a Thai cargo ship was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday. After the attack, 20 crew members have been rescued and evacuated to Khasab in Oman, while three members are still on board the ship and helping in relief and rescue operations.
According to the Thai Navy, the ship that was attacked is Mayuri Nari, a large bulk carrier registered in Thailand and owned by Bangkok-based company Precious Shipping. The attack took place as the ship departed from Khalifa Port in the United Arab Emirates and was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. At present, 23 crew members are safe.
The cargo ship burst into flames after colliding with an unidentified object about 11 nautical miles off the coast of Oman, British media outlet Seatrade Maritime reported. However, the fire was later brought under control. Some crew members remain on the ship and are engaged in recovery operations.
The Japan-registered ship One Majesty, which belongs to Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), suffered a hole of about 10 centimeters in its hull after colliding with an object about 25 nautical miles off Ras Al Khaimah, the report said. Despite this, the ship is moving towards a safe place and all the crew are safe. The third plane collided with an object about 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai, but its crew is also safe.
