Hansal Mehta’s new films: Announcement of many big projects from Ranveer Singh’s Pralay to action film ‘Porbandar’

New Delhi . Film director Hansal Mehta is these days working on many big and different genre projects through his new production banner True Story Films. Recently, Mehta and producer Sahil Saigal have announced their company’s upcoming projects, which include a long list of films and web series. These projects cover diverse genres such as action, horror, drama and post-apocalyptic thriller.

Among these announcements, the most talked about film is Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Pralaya’. This will be a post-apocalyptic thriller film, directed by Jai Mehta. It is being told that this film will be produced with international level technology and team. The film is being co-produced with Ranveer Singh’s banner. Hansal Mehta says that ‘Pralaya’ is a kind of film which has not been made in India till now. According to him, this will be a large-scale film, which is being prepared to give a completely new cinematic experience to the audience. The shooting of the film is expected to start by the end of this year.

Apart from this, Hansal Mehta himself is going to direct a new action film ‘Porbandar’. The film is named after the coastal city of Porbandar in Gujarat, famous as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. However, Mehta has clarified that the film’s story approach will be completely different. He said that on one hand Porbandar is related to Mahatma Gandhi, on the other hand this film will present a completely action based story.

‘Kehar Singh’ is also included in the list of upcoming films of True Story Films, which will be directed by ‘Fire in the Mountains’ director Ajitpal Singh. The company has described it as a grand and ambitious project, although not much information has been shared about its story and cast at the moment.

Apart from these, a unique horror film named ‘Mehfooz’ is also being made under this banner. It is a horror project based on a cannibal theme and its production is almost complete. A studio has also been associated with this film, but the search for a director for it is still going on.

Along with films, this company is also active in digital content. True Story Films is producing a film named ‘Dilkashi’ in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. This film is being directed by famous Malayalam cinema director Lijo Jose Pellissery and this will be his debut film in Hindi cinema. The special thing is that the music of the film is composed by A.R. Rahman is preparing.

Talking about series, the company has co-produced Netflix’s ‘Family Business’ and work on a new show is also going on. Through these diverse projects, Hansal Mehta and his team are preparing to bring new and experimental stories to the world of Indian cinema and OTT.
