ISRO chief V Narayanan said on Wednesday that there is a plan to collect samples from the Moon and bring them to Earth through Chandrayaan-4. At the same time, Chandrayaan-5 will have a heavier lander, which will also have a longer life. He also talked about the future projects of the agency, which include the study of Venus and the second Mars landing mission.

He said, we are continuously taking our Chandrayaan program forward. There is a plan to bring back samples safely from the Moon under Chandrayaan-4. Similarly, Chandrayaan-5 mission will use a higher lift lander, whose mission life will also be much longer than before.

ISRO preparing for landing on Mars

According to Narayanan, the age of Chandrayaan-3 lander was only 14 days. The target is to increase it to 100 days in new missions. The new rover will also be heavier. The previous rover was 25 kg, while the next one will be 350 kg. Referring to the Venus mission, he said that the Mars Orbiter Project has been completed, so now ISRO is preparing for the landing mission on Mars.

He said that talks are going on for approval for these projects from the government, which has a lot of interest in the science sector. The scope of space programs has increased under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that ISRO is currently working on the Gaganyaan mission. Under this, a plan is being made to send astronauts into space and bring them back to Earth safely in the next two years.

He informed that preparations are underway to build our own indigenous space station by 2035. Along with this, discussions have also started on landing Indians on the moon and bringing them back safely by 2040. There is a lot of activity in the space sector.
