T20 Ranking Update: Varun Chakraborty lost number 1 position in T20I ranking, Ishan Kishan made a huge leap

T20 Ranking Update : Varun Chakravarthy lost his top spot among T20I bowlers to Rashid Khan due to his poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup. But, India’s title-winning streak has seen many of their white-ball stars make big jumps in the rankings. Which includes star pacer Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Akshar Patel.

There was a change at the top in the ranking of T20I bowlers, after the end of the T20 World Cup, India’s spinner Varun Chakraborty lost his top position to Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan. Rashid’s rise to the No. 1 ranking despite not playing any matches last week pushed Chakraborty to second place, while Adil Rashid (up one place to fourth), Jasprit Bumrah (up one place to sixth) and Axar Patel (up six places to 17th) were rewarded for their good efforts during the T20 World Cup and got some good gains.

Ranking of batsmen Abhishek remains on top

Abhishek Sharma has maintained his lead at the top after his blazing half-century against the Black Caps in the T20 World Cup final, while his fellow left-hander Ishan Kishan is now his nearest rival, moving up two places to second after his 317 runs in the tournament. Kishan achieved his career-best rating and finished just four rating points behind Abhishek, while New Zealand’s Tim Seifert (up four places to sixth) and England’s Jacob Bethell (up 17 places to 16th) also achieved career-best numbers after some stellar innings during the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand opener Finn Allen got the advantage of scoring a century in 33 balls against South Africa in the semi-finals. He has moved up seven places to 20th position. While India’s Sanju Samson (up 18 places to 22nd) and Shivam Dubey (up four places to 27th) moved up the batting ranks after some good efforts in the tournament.

Pandya close to reaching the top in the ranking of all-rounders

The race to top the rankings for T20I all-rounders also remained tight, with Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and India star Hardik Pandya achieving the best ratings of their career this week and finishing in the top two places in this category. The New Zealand captain also achieved a career-best rating for T20I all-rounders by climbing three places to ninth, while England’s Will Jacks (up five places to 13th) gained the following following his stellar performances in the T20 World Cup.
