According to the information, from March 12, water supply will be closed for about 24 hours in Thane and for about 36 hours in Panvel. Due to this, thousands of citizens may have to face water problems. The administration has appealed to the people to store water in advance and use it carefully.

Thane Municipal Corporation Important works related to water pipelines are being done by it. Under this, water supply will remain closed in many areas of Thane from 9 am on March 12 to 9 am on March 13.

According to the Municipal Corporation, the work of new water channel is going on in the areas falling under Uthalsar Division Committee. During the excavation, the 600 mm diameter pipeline coming out of the water reservoir is facing technical obstruction, due to which this pipeline is being shifted.

Due to this work, water supply will be affected in areas like Siddheshwar Talao Complex, Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Ganeshwadi, Nitin Company Complex, Pachpakhadi, Sarovar Darshan, Chandanwadi, Hansnagar, Singnagar, Khopat, Flower Valley, Shelar Pada, Gokuldaswadi, Kolbad and Gokulnagar.

Apart from this, water supply will also remain closed in Pachpakhadi, Chandanwadi, Municipal Corporation Complex, Charai and Dhobiali areas falling under Naupada Divisional Committee.

Under the Nhava-Sheva sub-regional water supply scheme, repair work and commissioning of a new water pipeline is being done. This work will start from 9 am on March 12 and will continue till 9 pm on March 13, i.e. for about 36 hours.

During this period, water supply will remain closed in Panvel city, CIDCO colonies and many nearby villages. Major areas where water supply will be affected include Kalamboli, New Panvel, Panvel City, Khandeshwar, Karanjade and Navade.

Apart from this, information has also been given about water supply being stopped in villages like Derivali, Vadghar, Vichumbe, Usarli, Belawali-Bardoli and Nandgaon-Kudale.

According to the administration, even after the completion of the repair work, there is a possibility of water being available at low pressure for the next two days. Therefore, citizens have been advised to store sufficient water in advance.

The city administration has also said that the demand for water increases during the summer season, hence citizens should use water wisely.

The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the administration during the repair work and not waste water unnecessarily.
