Noida’s industries hit by ‘gas crisis’! Factories started being locked, operators raised their hands; Said – “It is impossible to work with such expensive gas”
The crisis regarding LPG-PNG gas seems to be deepening in Noida. Following the instructions of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, a temporary ban has been imposed on the distribution of commercial cylinders. After this decision, thousands of industrial units in Noida and Greater Noida are facing problems. In view of the shortage of LPG, lines of people taking cylinders were seen outside the gas agencies and warehouses since morning. Actually, due to increasing global tension in West Asia, the availability of gas has been affected. Due to this, the Ministry has given instructions to temporarily ban gas supply for commercial use, giving priority to domestic consumers.
The effect of this decision is also visible in the industrial areas of Noida and Greater Noida. There are more than four lakh PNG connection holders in the district, while more than 35 thousand MSME units are dependent on gas. Due to disruption in gas supply, it has become a challenge for these units to continue production. People associated with the industry say that packaging, food processing, silicone manufacturing and many other industries are dependent on gas.
Due to shortage of gas, work in many factories is gradually coming to a halt. Some have been forced to reduce production. Along with this, commercial LPG cylinder The shortage is also affecting the hotel, restaurant and catering business. Many restaurant operators say that due to lack of gas they are facing problems in running the kitchen. Some establishments are running by taking gas from other restaurants, while some have to buy cylinders from the black market at expensive prices.
Administration alert regarding black marketing of cylinders
The district administration has become alert on the complaint of increasing black marketing in the market. Four teams have been formed in the district under the leadership of ADM Finance and Revenue Atul Kumar. These teams are monitoring the situation of gas supply and black marketing of cylinders in the market. Some consumers say that cylinders are being sold in the market for Rs 3500 to Rs 5000.
Hotel operator Charanjit Singh said that the big distributors have run out of stock. Due to this, black marketing of commercial gas cylinders has started in the market. Consumers have been forced into this crisis and are managing by purchasing cylinders at expensive prices. ADM Atul Kumar says that at present only essential and emergency services like hospitals, government institutions, educational institutions and other essential services have been given permission to supply commercial gas. Teams have been deployed to stop black marketing in the district.
Consumers of industrial units expressed concern
President of IIA Gautam Buddha Nagar, Amit Upadhyay said that packaging, food processing and many other industries in the district are dependent on gas. For the last two days, complaints are being received about disruption in supply of LPG cylinders at many places. Due to this many factories are partially reducing their production. Its direct impact is felt the most on small hotel operators, restaurants and people running small units. If the problem is not resolved soon, many units may have to stop their work.
