of Jammu and Kashmir Former Chief Minister and Patron of National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah was fired upon. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir narrowly escaped the firing. Farooq Abdullah was attending a lawyer’s wedding in Jammu’s Greater Kailash area. He was shot during this wedding ceremony. But it has also come to light that the police have arrested the shooter. According to a report by ANI, Farooq Abdullah has survived.
J&K Police said, “An incident of firing was reported at a function where JKNC chief Farooq Abdullah and Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary were present. One person has been arrested. More details awaited.”

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir had gone to Greater Kailash area of Jammu to attend the wedding of a lawyer. The accused, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal, has been arrested and detained by the security personnel and the police have started an investigation. The investigation has now started as to what exactly happened in the meantime.

Farooq Abdullah is currently in the security force. Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary was also with him. Reports also said that Surinder Chaudhary sustained minor injuries from the shrapnel and was given medical attention.
The firing took place as soon as they left the banquet hall
Farooq Abdullah was in Jammu on Wednesday (March 11). He had come to attend the wedding of his son, a lawyer, and a party worker. Farooq Abdullah stayed there for about an hour. As soon as they left the banquet hall, they were fired upon. The accused is said to be hiding in the bushes. Meanwhile, there is no clarity as to why this firing was done and what is the motive behind it. Police have not given any update on this yet.
