Tezzbuzz Desk – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the Golden Jubilee Conference of All Kerala Dhivara Sabha held in Kochi, Kerala. During this, PM Modi expressed concern about the ongoing war in the Middle East and said that people are naturally worried about the ongoing situation in the Gulf. He said that lakhs of Indians are working there and India is making every effort to ensure the safety of its citizens.
Attack on Congress and regional parties
PM Modi also attacked the opposition in his speech. He said that Congress is doing politics in the midst of this global crisis and is deliberately making provocative statements. He also accused regional parties LDF and UDF of being partners in corruption and stalling development.
Praising the fishermen community, the Prime Minister said that this community shows courage and service in times of crisis. Referring to the severe flood of 1999, he said that the fishermen community had taken risks and helped the people. PM Modi said that the fishermen community is a major force in the country’s economy.
Rs 1,400 crore under Matsya Sampada Yojana
The Prime Minister said that under the Matsya Sampada Yojana, an amount of about Rs 1,400 crore has been given to Kerala. This will promote the development of fisheries and blue economy. He said that this community was ignored for decades, but now the BJP-NDA government is recognizing its potential.
PM Modi announced that the Central Government has changed the name of Kerala Keralam The proposal to do so has been approved. He said that this decision fulfills the long standing demand of the people of the state.
Development projects worth crores inaugurated
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth about Rs 10,800 crore in Ernakulam. This includes New unit at Kochi Refinery, which will provide raw material for plastics and medical equipment. Inauguration of new roads under Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor and Kozhikode bypass. Rural roads, modern railway stations and opening of a large solar power plant in Kollam.
Emphasis on social and economic development
PM Modi said the 50th anniversary of the All Kerala Dhivara Sabha is a reminder that the community has always borne the responsibility of enhancing social harmony and issues related to national consciousness. He congratulated the fishermen community and the members of the Sabha and appreciated their hard work and contribution.
