In which countries is euthanasia being given before India? Know the conditions also

The Supreme Court has taken an important decision on March 11, where the judges of the court have given permission for euthanasia of 31 year old Harish Rana. This is the first decision in India, where a person has been given the right to euthanasia in the court. This decision may be the first but the right to euthanasia already exists in India. Apart from India, there are many countries where people have the right to euthanasia.

In India, euthanasia is given to a person who is living with the support of a life saving machine i.e. ventilator. Also, the doctor should confirm that the person cannot recover. Harish Rana has also been in coma for many years and is alive with the help of ventilator. After this decision the ventilator will be removed, which will lead to his death. In India, euthanasia is not done by giving poison. The right to euthanize a person is given only when he is suffering from an incurable disease. Apart from India, there are many countries where the right to euthanasia is given.

In India there is no right to suicide but there is right to euthanasia. For this reason this right often remains under question. Apart from India, euthanasia is also allowed in America, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Netherlands and Switzerland. Now the question arises that how euthanasia is given in these countries.

Euthanasia rules in America

Active euthanasia is illegal in America, but there are 10 states in America where Death with Dignity law is in force. These states include states like California, Oregon and Washington. In these states, euthanasia can be achieved by giving medicines with the help of a doctor. However, people under the age of 18 cannot undergo euthanasia. According to the rules, only those people can avail the right of euthanasia who are suffering from serious illness and have no hope of recovery.
