Deadly attack on Farooq Abdullah, Deputy CM Surendra Chaudhary injured, attacker arrested

Jammu. There was chaos in Greater Kailash area of ​​Jammu late on Wednesday night when a sudden firing incident took place during a wedding ceremony outside the Royal Park.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Chaudhary were also present in this ceremony. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of panic for some time among the guests and security personnel present at the venue.

According to preliminary information, both the senior leaders had come to the Royal Park in Greater Kailash to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of a senior lawyer. Meanwhile, a person suddenly opened fire, causing a stampede-like situation among the people present at the venue. The security personnel immediately took charge of the situation and removed the people to safe places.

In the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Chaudhary suffered minor injuries due to shrapnel from the weapon. The doctors and security personnel present on the spot immediately provided first aid to him. According to officials, his injury is not serious and his condition is completely stable. Whereas former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah remained completely safe in this incident.

As soon as the sound of firing was heard, the police and security personnel deployed on the spot took immediate action and caught the attacker within a few minutes. The accused Kamal Singh Jamwal, resident of Purani Mandi, Jammu was taken into custody and the weapon used was also recovered from him.
