New system regarding land registry in UP, implemented from April 1

Lucknow. To bring transparency in matters related to purchase and sale of land in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has decided to implement a new system. Under this new system, now the ownership rights of any property will be fully investigated before its registration. This new system will be implemented in the entire state from April 1.

The state government believes that this change will prevent fraud in the purchase and sale of land and cases like multiple registration of the same land. The decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Khatauni will be checked before registration

According to the new system, now before the registration of any land or property, the title deeds and ownership rights will be checked. The time for registration will be fixed only after the investigation is completed. The purpose of this process is to ensure that there is no dispute or fraud over the land that is being sold or purchased.

Registration will have to be done within an hour

Under the new system, a fixed time slot will be given for registration after verification of the property. This slot will be valid for one hour only. Both the buying and selling parties will have to complete the registration process within this one hour. If registration is not done within the stipulated time then that slot will be automatically cancelled.

If the slot is cancelled, the entire process will have to be done again.

If for some reason the registration cannot be done within the stipulated time and the slot is cancelled, then the entire process will have to be done again to get a new time. For this, both the parties selling and buying the property will have to appear in the registration office again. After this, a new slot will be given only after completing the property related investigation and other formalities.

Government’s new system will prevent fraud

The government says that after the implementation of the new system, the possibility of fraud in the land registry will almost be eliminated. In the recent past, many such cases had come to light in which the same land was registered multiple times. The new system will effectively control such cases and ensure identification of the real owner of the land.
