PM Modi will release the 22nd installment of PM-Kisan on March 13!
Giving this information, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that this step shows the commitment of the Central Government towards the farmers and the spirit of ‘Annadata Samman’.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that since the launch of the scheme in February 2019, an amount of more than Rs 4.09 lakh crore has been sent directly to the accounts of farmers. After the release of the 22nd installment, this total amount will increase to more than Rs 4.27 lakh crore. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation of an important and lasting change in the agriculture sector by providing direct income support to small and marginal farmers.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that more than 2.15 crore women farmers will also get financial assistance in the 22nd installment. According to him, this amount received on time helps the farmers to meet the needs of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural needs.
Apart from this, this assistance also proves useful in meeting education, health and other household needs. He said that the government is continuously making efforts to economically empower women farmers and this scheme is strengthening the economic condition of rural families.
The Union Minister also said that many independent studies have revealed that the PM-Kisan scheme has strengthened the rural economy. This has reduced farmers’ dependence on loans and also boosted investment in the agricultural sector. He said that this scheme is completely technology based and transparent, which is being operated through India’s digital public infrastructure and there is no role of any kind of middlemen in it.
For the convenience of farmers, the government has also made ‘Know Your Status (KYS)’ module available on the PM-Kisan portal. Through this, farmers can check their payment status, eligibility, land seeding, Aadhaar linking and e-KYC information at one place.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the government is making continuous efforts to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach only the genuine eligible farmers. For this purpose, the facility of voluntary surrender has been started for rich farmers. Besides, arrangements have also been made to reactivate the accounts of those farmers who had surrendered the benefits by mistake so that no eligible farmer is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has kept the interest of farmers at the center of policy making. Apart from PM-Kisan Yojana, steps like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Soil Health Card, expansion of Kisan Credit Card and increase in minimum support price are bringing positive changes in the lives of farmers.
The Union Minister appealed to the farmers to check the status of their information on the PM-Kisan portal and if necessary, complete the e-KYC as soon as possible, so that the benefits of the 22nd installment to be released on March 13 can reach their accounts on time.
