New Delhi: A unique case related to the police department has come to light in the national capital Delhi. Here a sub inspector has appealed to withdraw his own promotion. He has requested the authorities to demote him and make him a constable again. After this strange demand letter came to light, discussion has started in the police department also.
Unique demand to withdraw promotion
According to sources, a sub inspector posted at a police station in North-East Delhi district recently gave an application to his superiors. In this application he has demanded withdrawal of his promotion. Even the police officers were surprised to hear this demand of the Sub Inspector, because usually the employees try to get promotion, but here the case is completely opposite.
Sub Inspector was made from Constable
It is being told that the concerned policeman was earlier recruited as a constable. Later, through departmental promotion, he was made Sub Inspector. But after getting the promotion, he himself has expressed his desire to take it back and said that he should be posted again on the post of constable.
Police headquarters asked for report
In view of this matter, the pension cell of the police headquarters has sent a letter to all the concerned units asking for a report. It has been said in the letter that information should be given whether any departmental inquiry, criminal case, vigilance inquiry, suspension, complaint, overpayment, medical or any case related to absence is pending against the concerned policeman. Besides, all the units have also been asked to give ‘No Demand Certificate’ within three days. If no information is received within the stipulated time, it will be treated as ‘nil report’ and further action will be taken. At present, this matter has become a topic of discussion in the Delhi Police Department and the officers are also considering what further action should be taken on this unusual request.
