BCCI will give a big award: Cricketer of the Year to Shubman Gill, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to Rahul Dravid for his explosive performance.
Delhi. India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is set to be chosen ‘Cricketer of the Year’ at the BCCI (Board of Cricket in India) annual awards ceremony to be held here on March 15. The 26-year-old was not selected in the T20 squad that defended the World Cup title recently, but he has performed brilliantly in the other two formats. Gill scored 983 runs at an average of over 70 in Test matches in 2025, including 754 runs in the drawn series against England on home soil.
Gill also played an important role in India winning the title in the Champions Trophy ODI tournament. In this tournament he scored 188 runs and thus scored a total of 490 runs in ODIs in the year 2025. Overall, Gill scored 1,764 runs across all three formats at an average of 49, including seven centuries and three half-centuries. Although his performance in T20 Internationals was not that impressive, he was in excellent form in the IPL.
In the IPL, he scored 650 runs at an average of 50 while playing for Gujarat Titans. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid is set to be honored with the Colonel CK Nayudu ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his invaluable contribution to Indian cricket. While he was the head coach, India won the T20 World Cup title in 2024. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is likely to get the award for the best association in domestic cricket.
